Mary Sum Says:
Another jump in the top 20 takings, this time 38%, to $24.1 million for the weekend, takes us slap bang into the middle of the holiday movie season. In its 6th week, Australia managed a 5% lift, to bring it within reach of the $30 million mark. But it was Yes Man that dominated, taking $4.1 million at the weekend on 256 screens. But the screen average crown was taken by Slumdog Millionaire, with a massive 48% rise in its third weekend, shooting it over the $2 million mark. #Figures in [brackets] indicate number of screens and average; takings are in Aus dollars.
